#559 Horror of the Everyday (Repeat)

This week, we’re re-sharing this episode from our archives for two reasons.

Firstly, because it’s Halloween season.

Secondly, because the horrors depicted, especially that of Islamophobia and racism, are sadly extremely relevant today.

The stories come from a variety show called ‘Horror of the Everyday’ by producers from Refugee Art Project and New Moon artist collective. These stories were made with support from inner west council and co-produced by Mike Williams.

A content warning for this episode, the stories will contain discussions of racism, Islamophobia and sexual harassment.

Street Harassment

Eleni discusses street harassment in Cyprus with Eleni and her friend Fatima.

Produced by Eleni Christou from New Moon Artist Collective.

Everyday Racism

Zeinab ponders the impacts of racism on a question as old as Shakespeare – what’s in a name?

Produced by Zeinab Mir from the Refugee Art Project.

Hazeen

An interview with members of Hazeen, an anti racist Muslim death metal band.

Produced by Safdar Ahmed from the Refugee Art Project.
