#515 Tying the Knot

Recently, the 2022 World Cup has brought attention to the persecution of the LGBTQIA+ community in Qatar.

As players around the world call for the decriminalisation of queer relationships, we’re taking a moment to remember how important it is to be able to love regardless of gender and sex.

We hear the stories of beautiful queer weddings that have taken place since marriage equality was legalised in Australia, five years ago.

Our first story is by Salvin Kumar and was originally read this story at Queer Stories. A national LGBTQI+ storytelling project curated by Maeve Marsden.

Queer stories isn’t just an event it’s also a podcast and book. You can find out more at: https://maevemarsden.com/queerstories/

Our second story was produced by Hank Paul and is an excerpt from their new podcast, First Look.

You can listen to the whole series at firstlookpodcast.com
