Charlottesville, Virginia, August 2017. A group of neo-Nazis rallying by firelight is terrifying to see on your Facebook feed. But we’re probably fine in Australia, right? They’re just a bunch of outcast idiots on the other side of the world.

But Alice Moldovan can’t stop shaking, and she’s not the only one. This story is about when assumptions are made about a whole people, and the ripple effects across the world.
