#320 The Bubble


We’re told we all live in our own bubbles, reinforced by our friends, our beliefs, our Facebook news feeds, and that very few of us can break free. This week, stories of people who popped their bubbles.

‘By land, by sea, by air’ by Max Chalmers

In Sydney’s Western suburb of Lakemba, Rohingya refugees are building a new community. They’re from Myanmar, next to Bangladesh and many of them have fled a lifetime of persecution. Sajeda is one of them, but after finally making it to Sydney and settling in Lakemba, she starts to itch over some unfinished business, and she might have to leave the safety of the bubble she only just entered.
