#323 Dad Who

Play

This week: stories of tracking down our dads, from Sydney to New York, from off the coast of Darwin and all across Ecuador.

Edgar, Edgar, donde estas? By Selena Shannon

When Elizabeth was a toddler and she wanted her dad’s attention, she would play a silly game. She would travel around the house and assertively sing: “Edgar, Edgar dónde estás?”, Edgar Edgar, where are you? Until he would race to her side and scoop up her giggling chubby body, “I am here little one, here I am”.

This is a story about running late for a train.

‘Home is where the heart is’ By Joanna Bell

In the 90’s, an iconic lesbian band ‘The Blue House’ toured all over the world. There was one place the lead guitarist Sam Harley wouldn’t play – that was Darwin.

But we have a favourite podcast in Darwin called SPUN, it’s a collection of live storytelling nights about the weird and wonderful happenings in the NT, and we just caught Sam there talking about her Dad.

Sam’s story was produced by Joanna Bell.
