Yep! We’re putting on a live storytelling event for the Festival Club on Thursday May 22 at 7.30pm.
You know, and we know, that the best stories are about people. So we’ve asked five of our favourite people to come and tell you human stories on stage. Realising somebody is human after all, or that they’re only human. Humans growing up, making decisions, saying awful things to other humans, being excellent to each other.
We’re obsessed with each of these storytellers for the things they do and the way they do them. Come down early for stories from Meanjin’s youngest ever editor, Zora Sanders, author Maxine Beneba-Clark, web developer Dan Nolan, a story and a song from musician Caitlin Park, and a tale by writer and radio producer (and ex All The Best Features EP) Belinda Lopez. Hosted by our presenter Michaela Morgan.
We’re first up as part of Festival Club, followed by The Chaser’s Empty Vessel and then Erotic Fan Fiction. There are loads of clever guests including Reza Aslan and Annabel Crabb. Tickets are $15 on the door for the whole evening, and there’s a facebook event here if you want to invite a friend.
